James R. Pees, 75, of Murrysville passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.  He was born September 23, 1941, son of the late James Boyde Pees and Grace Hobaugh Pees.  He was a retired research technician for Westinghouse with 35 years of service.  He was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ (Hill's Church) Export and a member and chaplain for the Forbes Trail Masonic Lodge #783 of Export.  Jim was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Export American Legion; S.L.A.M. and the Murrysville Historical Society.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was preceded in death by a son, James Edward Pees in 2014 and a granddaughter and a grandson.  Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Gohacki Pees; four children, Russell (January) Pees of FL, Amy (Steven) Foust of Murrysville, David (Michelle) Pees of OK and H. Jay Varner of White Oak; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren and two brothers, Dr. Richard C. Pees of Carlisle and Jon B. Pees of MD.  Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville.  A service will be held in the Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, 3618 Hills Church Road, Export on Monday at 11 a.m.  (Everyone please meet at the church.)  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, Export, PA.  15632.   www.harrtfuneralhomeinc.com.

Jim was a contributor, always ready with a helping hand, especially with the young folks who wanted to hunt in the Commonwealth. I was privledged to know him and be a friend.
