Patricia (Rodgers) Sample, 90, Murrysville, PA died Saturday, January 20, 2018.  She was born November 27, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Edward Leo and Wilhelmina Schnippert Rodgers.  She is survived by her four sons; James R. (Amy) of Palm Springs, CA, Curtis J. (Renee) of Dadeville, AL, Keith P.(Charmaine) of Ellicott City, MD, and Robert F. (Michele) of Monument, CO, and grandchildren, Amber (Mark) Davis of Bayfield, CO, Cierra Sample of Marina del Rey, CA, Cody Sample of Murrysville, PA, Kristen (Daniel) McCaffery of Baltimore, MD, Elle, Kellsey, and Ashlee Sample of Monument, CO, and Sean Sample of Dadeville, AL.  Three great grandchildren; Isabella and Gabriel Davis and Benjamin Sample.  A sister, Mary Jane Grossman of Port Richie, FL, brother, Robert E. (Nancy) Rodgers of Williamsburg, VA, and special nieces, Cathy (Don) Johnson and Ann Stackhouse.  In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Robert Sample; brothers, James J. Rodgers and Edward Leo Rodgers Jr.; a sister, Grace Baldauf, granddaughter-in- law, Jennifer Sample and grandson, Daniel Eck.  Patricia was a graduate of St. Benedict’s Academy and attended the University of Pittsburgh.  Patricia and John were married in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Pittsburgh, PA. in 1955.  Patricia and John were happily married for 58 years until his death in 2013, residing in Penn Hills and Murrysville, PA.  Patricia was a realtor from 1973 until her retirement in 1995 in both Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties. She was a consistent million dollar producer.  Patricia was very active in community affairs in Penn Hills, PA including member of the Republican Committee, President of the PTA at Washington Elementary and was elected President of Churchill Manor Women’s Club after serving on many committees for a number of years.  Patricia loved her Lord. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved life and loved her boys and their families with all her heart.  She was happiest being with her family traveling often in recent years to see children and grandchildren.  A memorial mass will be announced at a later date.  Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville entrusted with arrangements.
