Roy William Wyss, 31, of Millvale, PA, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018.  Roy was a former resident of Murrysville and a graduate of the Franklin Regional class of 2005.  He is the beloved son of Becky and Sam Wyss and brother of Keith and Roger Wyss.  Roy is also survived by his paternal Grandmother Audrey Wyss Weingart.  Roy was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and employed as a Senior Business Analyst at PNC Bank in downtown Pittsburgh.  Roy was a gifted athlete and competed as a diver in the high school WPIAL and PIAL contests and as a freshman at Penn.  In his senior year of high school, Roy set the FRHS pool diving record.  In recent years, Roy had taken an interest in biking.  As in all of his ventures, he applied himself with gusto, and trained during his daily commute, completing the Bike Pittsburgh 100 km ride.  Those who knew Roy will appreciate his fearlessness to try new things, his uncanny natural talents, and his persistence to excel in diverse endeavors ranging from stargazing, skydiving, mountaineering, and music-making. His family will cherish memories of their recent vacation to Wyoming.  Among other memories, Roy organized a 21-mile overnight camping and hiking trip with his brothers through Grand Teton National Park that featured bear and moose sightings. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Holiday Park United Methodist Church at 81 Sandune Dr., Pittsburgh (Plum), PA, 15239. The family will greet friends before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bike Pittsburgh, 188 43rd Street, Suite 1 Pittsburgh, PA 15201

Wyss Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Roy was a fantastic co-worker and a great friend. I enjoyed all the laughs he provided while working together, and the collaboration within the music space. He always had creative and productive feedback when I wanted his opinion on my music creations. I also enjoyed listening to Roy's progress on guitar and his vocal recordings to accompany. I will truly miss hearing his stories, crossing paths at various PNC locations, and sharing a laugh whether personal or business related. Roy, you'll be missed my friend. ~John

Dear Becky and Sam,
I am heartbroken to hear of your son's death. I know that the congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Salem joins me in offering our love and prayers. No parent should suffer this loss, and I often think that Jesus died to help us understand that God is with us even in the most tragic situations. It's my prayer that you will know yourselves held tightly to God's heart.
I will be thinking of you during this difficult weekend and thereafter.
With affection and sympathy, Meta

Difficult to process this news. We lost touch over the years but my formative years were spent with Roy, whether at diving practice or going to a concert with him and Marc. Sending all my love to the Wyss family.

Dear Mr./Mrs. Wyss, Keith, Roger and family,
It saddens my heart to hear of the passing of Roy. I remember him well (even though he graduated from FR in 2005). Roy truly made an impact while at FR. Whether in the pool, classroom, with peers or in my office discussing plans for the future, Roy was always focused, polite, and so passionate. He truly was a dedicated athlete, role model person, and gifted musician. My prayers are with you during this time of inexplicable sorrow and deep sadness. May beautiful memories provide a sense of calm and comfort. And please know that you always have support within the FR community.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Ami (Malovitz) Zachetti

Parents of Roy Wyss, i don't know you personally but i had to reach out to you because I am a parent also. I truly want to extend my sincere condolences in the loss of your precious son. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but when it is your child, it is heartbreaking!! May your family, friends and most of all Almighty God be with and comfort you in the days and months ahead. (Isaiah 41:10, 13; Psalm 83:18; Rev 21:4) Please try to get the brochure, "When Someone You Love Dies" (jw.org). It was a tremendous help for me during my time of lost. Again, my condolences and prayers for your family.

We were so saddened to hear about Roy. We know and feel your pain over the loss of a son. Roy was a smart, gentle, friendly, polite young man. Always welcome at our home, he was a pleasure being around; whether just hanging out with Erik, or them playing guitars in the basement. Happy memories from those years at Franklin.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to Roy's family. He will be deeply missed.

I was just getting to know Roy. We met a few months ago. We had more in common than most people I had ever met before. I truly thought I had met a lifelong friend. With the holidays I didn't hear about his passing until last night. I feel terrible about missing his viewing and service. I had just seen him the night before he died. This was the last thing I expected. I'm jealous that you all got to know him for so much longer than I did. Even though I only knew him a few months I feel like I've lost one of my best friends. I regret not being able to meet his family and other friends too. I can't imagine the pain, sorrow, and frustration you're all dealing with. You all have my deepest sympathy and love. I hope you can find peace in knowing how many lives Roy touched. He will be sorely missed.
