Regina Ann “Jean” Geisler, 86, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2018, two days shy of her 87th birthday.  She was the beloved wife of the late Martin James Geisler for over 60 years.  Regina was born in Pittsburgh on November 30, 1931, the 5th of 9 children of the late Frederick Wilhelm Goempel and Elizabeth Marjorie McKelvey.  Regina attended St. Mary Magdalene Grade School in Homestead, PA and Sacred Heart Catholic High School in East Liberty, PA. where she assisted as secretary, loved to read, and enjoyed dancing at the Friday night socials.  She also worked part time at the Park Dairy.  Upon her graduation from Sacred Heart in 1950, Regina worked as a secretary for Shadyside Academy.  She met her future husband, Martin James on a double date arranged by her good friend (and future sister-in-law) Helen and Charles Geisler, brother of Martin.  Regina and Martin were married at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Homestead Park, PA on June 9, 1956.  They lived in Churchill, PA then moved to Murrysville, PA. in 1967, building their own home.  While raising her children, Regina was active in her parish of Mother of Sorrows Church, volunteering as rectory secretary, and a member of the Parish Ladies Guild and the Legion of Mary.  Regina and Martin lovingly raised 7 children; Martin J. Jr. (Barbara) of Sinking Spring, PA, Michael S. of McKeesport, PA, Kathleen E. (Robert) Dietzen of Munhall, PA, Diane M. (Pat) Smrekar of Irwin, PA, Ann R. Casuccio of Pittsburgh, PA, Stephen J. (Sarah) of Canby, OR, and Joseph P. of Austin, TX.  She was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all her pride and joy.  Regina is preceded in death by her brothers; Frederick, Robert, James, John, and Paul and sisters, Mary and Hilda.  She is survived by her youngest sister, Susan Wild.  Visitation will be on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville with recitation of Rosary at 7:30 p.m.  Additional visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Mother of Sorrows
Church, Murrysville with a funeral mass at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you send a donation in the name of Regina Geisler to St. Emma Catholic Monastery, 1001 Harvey Avenue, Greensburg, PA. 15601.

So sorry for your loss. Aunt Jeannie was my favorite. We were blessed to have someone as wonderful as her to help take care of us when we were younger. God bless you, and her in heaven.

My deepest of sympathies to each of you.

I will always remember the kitchen talks with your mom and mine. How I learned so much about our past as we shared photos and discussed philosophical thoughts.

May you be comforted in memories and by all the love of your family and friends.

With love,
Veronica
