Kim,

I am beyond devastated and in disbelief of Rick’s passing. It was truly an honor to care for him. I am so sorry this happened. In my short time of knowing him, I am lucky to have met such a kind, genuine man. Sending love and prayers from my family and the entire staff of Forbes ICU.

I am so sorry. Rick was a very special brother-in-law. I cherish the time we had together especially in the last couple of years. He took me for a ride in his truck at the family reunion this summer. He said " us in-laws have to stick together". Our lives were enriched by his humor and ability to make others comfortable and feel special. Prayers, love and peace for all of Rick's family.

Rick was a fantastic brother-in-law. He never met a stranger, and was quick with a joke and a smile. I will never forget the time he brought my sister to little old Waxahachie TX for a visit. We had a wonderful time seeing the sites in Dallas and Fort Worth. Also, the family reunion this past summer was filled with joy, and Rick played a big part in making that happen. I will miss him forever.

It is with heartfelt sadness that I am posting this condolence to Kim, family members and friends. To think I will never hear that voice saying "It's good to see you again, Nancy!" when he arrives in the store is mind-boggling. His bigger than life presence, bigger than life smile, bigger than life laugh and bigger than life empathy for others impacted many and I am blessed to have been part that. Rest in peace, Rick .... you will not be forgotten.

Rick was indeed a good man. It would have been a blessing to have had the privilege of knowing him more personally. My heartfelt prayers and sympathy go out to my beloved niece, Kim and Rick's family. His sudden loss at such an early age will require all our love and support, but most importantly trust in the strength that only God can bring to fruition. Love and prayers, Aunt Janet
