William J. Breckenridge in the North Atlantic, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean as a fire controlman.
Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Murrysville.  He was also a member of Lodge #278 F&AM in Johnstown and the Pittsburgh Scottish Rite Consistory.  He had a lifelong interest in music from playing the trumpet in his early years and then in his retirement he played the organ.  The old church hymns and songs from his youth were his favorites.  He began recording this music on cassette tapes to pass along to family and friends who didn't hear these oldies played anymore.  He also delivered tapes to be played at several senior care homes for those who remembered this music.
Bill is survived by his son Clifford B. McGuire and his wife Bonnie, of Vandergrift; three granddaughters, Shannon (McGuire) Sproat and her husband, Douglas Sproat, Erin (McGuire) Day and her husband, Kevin Day and Sara McGuire; five great-grandchildren, Rowan Lytle, Rachel Sproat, Brian Sproat, Malachi Lytle and Adam Sproat.  He is also survived by his loving sister, Jean (McGuire) Ribblett of Johnstown and nieces, Patty, Cindy, Nancy and nephew, Lyle along with their spouses and many great nieces and nephews and a great great niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen (Hildebrand) McGuire, his brother-in-law, Jack Ribblett and niece, Judy (Ribblett) Garner and one great great niece, Inez.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robert V. Ellson officiating.  Interment with military honors accorded by the United States Navy will take place in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
Should family or friends desire, it was Bill's wish that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 3916 Old William Penn Hwy., Murrysville, PA 15668.
