Alice H. (Holt) Miller

Alice H. Miller, 95, of Murrysville, passed away Saturday March 16, 2024.  She was born June 7, 1928, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Dr. John Eugene Holt and the late Celia Jamison Holt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Robert L. Miller; a brother, Dr. John E. Holt Jr. and a sister, Edith H. Hakas. 

Alice led a remarkable life dedicated to education and community service. She was a graduate of Chatham University and the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her Masters of Education degree.  Throughout her life, she exhibited a profound passion for teaching and learning. Her dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she was also known for her active involvement in community service. Alice's commitment was recognized with the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Municipality of Murrysville.

Alice is survived by two children, Ellen Myers, Bruce (Cristina) Miller; four grandchildren, Lauren (Erik) Stumpf, Logan Nolte, Evan (Kaela) Nolte, Kevin Miller; three great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Emerie, and Mica. She is also survived by a sister, Marigene (Donald) Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Murrysville Community Library 4130 Sardis Road, Murrysville, Pa 15668 in Alice's name. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. Murrysville.
