Aubra L. Bethune "Lee", 95, formerly of Murrysville, passed away on December 23, 2021. Lee was born on March 26, 1926 to the late Mattie and Cary Shook in O’Donnell, Texas. Prior to retiring in her late 80s, Lee spent over 20 years working in the offices of Cloverleaf Communities in Murrysville and Delmont. In addition to her parents, Lee is predeceased by her husband, Forrest W. (Hack) Bethune Jr., son-in-law James R. Geiger and her Bethune brother and sisters-in law. Lee met the love of her life, Hack, when she was just 17, while he was attending the US Air Force Glider Pilot Training near Lubbock, TX during WWII. They married after 4 months and she moved to Turtle Creek, PA to be with his family while he served overseas. After the war, Hack’s job with Westinghouse took them to Buffalo, NY, Idaho Falls, ID, Greensburg, PA and Jacksonville, FL, before they retired to Zellwood, FL. After Hack’s passing in 1984, Lee relocated to Murrysville to be closer to family. Lee was known for her southern accent, infectious laugh, and the kindness she always showed others. She had friends and family all over the country and was dedicated to keeping in touch with them over the years. Lee was also an accomplished amateur golfer and avid sports fan, with a particular fondness for hockey and the Pittsburgh Penguins. She took delight in attending all of her grandchildren’s activities over the years and was a very loving and active great-grandmother. Lee will be lovingly remembered by her children; Sharon Geiger of Selbyville, DE and Gary Bethune (Lisa) of Wakefield, RI, as well as her grandchildren; Allyson Doorley (Kevin) of Murrysville, Bradley Geiger (Leigh) of Arlington, VA and Alex Bethune of Wakefield, RI, as well as her great-grandchildren; Meagan and Hannah Doorley and Reagan and Ella Geiger. The family will hold a small memorial service at HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021.  Inurnment will follow at Murrysville Cemetery.
