Barbara J. Seddon Cady

Barbara J. (Seddon) Cady, 87, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born October 30, 1936, in Vandergrift, PA, daughter of the late Howard and Anne (Hileman) Painter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Cady.

She graduated from Kiski Area High School and continued her education at Edinboro University and Indiana University, where she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Barbara was a life-long educator, teaching elementary and secondary education at Syracuse, NY, Youngstown, NY, and Utica, NY and finally at Franklin Regional School District where she taught for nearly 30 years. She continued her career well after retirement as a substitute teacher.

She is survived by her children Kirk (Tammy) Seddon, Michael (April) Seddon, LeeAnne (Bruce Trojan) Seddon, Shelby (Glenn) Wilson; sister Viola Ann “Vianne” Medice; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her devoted partner of 12 years, Robert “Bob” DiCicco.

Barbara will be remembered as a sweet, hard-working, intelligent, woman, wife, and mother. She was an avid reader and loved to learn and teach. She attended Cornerstone Ministries and Christ Lutheran Church.
