Carl T. Severini, 91, of Danville, formerly of Murrysville, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville, PA. He was born January 27, 1932, son of the late Ignazio and Gioconda Iezzi Severini. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rose Morozowich Severini; a son, Steven Severini; and two sisters, Flora and Antoinette.
Carl is survived by four children, Susan Hibbard, Shirley (C.P.) Horn, Thomas (Karla Engel) Severini, Nancy (John) Marr; nine grandchildren, Allison Hibbard, Parker (Amanda) Hibbard, Audra (Cameron) Dezfulian, Katherine (Thomas) Hulley, Joseph, Anthony, Lisa, Maria and Valerie Severini; two step-grandchildren, Brian (Carly) Marr and Kristin (Terry) Martin; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas, and Michael; ten step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Debra Severini and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl grew up in Youngwood, PA and graduated from St. Vincent University in 1952. While working as a research chemist, he attended Duquesne University Law School graduating in 1960. He joined PPG Industries as a patent attorney, becoming Chief Patent Counsel during his 32 years with PPG. He served as President of the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel and President of the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association. For twenty-five years, he served on the board of directors of United Way of Westmoreland County. He was an active member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Murrysville for over 58 years.
During retirement, Carl enjoyed traveling with Rose and relaxing at their farm in Cherry Tree, PA. He was a lifelong Steelers fan and always happy to talk about Pittsburgh sports. He enjoyed family holidays and took pride in being a part of the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville, at which time parting prayers will be held in the funeral home, followed by a 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville.
