Carol J. Klingensmith

Carol (Kardos) Klingensmith of Murrysville passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the age of 86.

Carol graduated valedictorian of Turtle Creek High school in 1954. She then attended Robert Morris and became an executive assistant at US Steel; throughout her career she worked for other various companies in the Pittsburgh area. She and her husband Chester married in 1957 and spent many loving years riding his motorcycle cross-country, spending time on the area rivers in their house boat, and driving to Florida to spend their winters chasing the sun.

Beloved wife of Chester Klingensmith and mother of Robert (Susan) Klingensmith, she is also survived by her much loved grandchildren, Maggie (Anthony) Donatelli, Michael Klingensmith, and Annie Klingensmith.

Carol was a special person who cared deeply about her family. She was always there to play a game of Sorry, Scrabble or Spades. She never missed any of her grandchildren’s many sporting events or other activities. Carol always made sure no one left Sunday dinners hungry, and finished off family meals with a piece of her legendary apple cake.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
