Charles Weber Cathey, 78 of Murrysville, formerly of Churchill passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2021. He was born May 3, 1942 in Nashville, TN, son of the late Charles Edgar and Pearle Tennie Paine Cathey. He graduated from Fort Smith High School in May 1960 and moved to Pittsburgh, PA. Charles enlisted in the Marine Corp in August 1960. He served 4 years on active duty and was discharged August 1964. He then moved to Monroe, LA, in 1964 and attended NE Louisiana State College for 3 years. In July 1967, he moved back to Pittsburgh and was employed at the University of Pittsburgh Book Center. In 1968, he began work for Aspen Systems Corporation where he was employed for two years. In 1970, Charles was hired by Carnegie Museum of Art as Registrar. In February 1983, he entered the home furnishing industry as a manufacturer’s rep. He retired in October 2007. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Alice Ewing Cathey of Murrysville; a sister, Ethelyn (Loren) Pankratz of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Delmont Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Eastview Union Cemetery. Delmont.
