Claudia Mathews, 70, of Murrysville, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at UPMC East in Monroeville. She was born July 18, 1952, in Jamshedpur, India, daughter of the late Dr. Thonipurackal “Tony” and Elsie Louise Krueger Cherian. She was an avid basketball player and represented two states in India before she emigrated to the USA. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Franklin Regional Girls’ Lacrosse team and managed the concession stand (called Claudia’s Kitchen) at the FR Lacrosse games. She was a teacher at Rainbow Connection, here in Murrysville and then became a paralegal at Dickey, McCamey & Chilcote for something to do . . . . . and then . . . . . she claimed that she was a Domestic Engineer (look that up) the last few years. Claudia will be dearly missed by her husband of over 42 years, Samuel Mathews; two sons, Paul (Nikki) and David (Amber Stephens); three grandchildren, Kamryn, Alexandra and Mason; her brothers, Sunny (Simone) Cherian, Paul Cherian; sisters, Selma (Alan) Mueller and Anne Kurashige; numerous nieces and nephews.
