Colleen Horan Luko, 79, formerly of Bentleyville, passed away peacefully February 2, 2025, at UPMC Mercy Hospital. She was born in Monessen Pa, on April 23, 1945, to the late William and Zeta Horan, along with her lifelong companion and twin, Kathleen.
Colleen was a graduate of Monessen High School and began her career at Bell Telephone in Charleroi before later working at the Washington Target, where she enjoyed connecting with people and co-workers. In 1968, she met and married Daniel Luko, Sr., and together they built a home in Bentleyville, raising their two children, Dan and Leslie (Sis).
Known for her love of bingo and pressing her luck at the Meadows, Colleen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was happiest basking in the sun, whether lounging by her daughter’s pool or cheering on her grandson at baseball games. But above all, her greatest role was being “Grammy” to her eight grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.
Colleen is survived by her son, Dan Luko, and daughter-in-law, Carrie Luko, of Murrysville; her daughter, Leslie Pitetti, and son-in-law, Raymond Pitetti, of Bridgeville; and her beloved grandchildren: Ryan Jonov, Jillian (Anthony) Tutino, Colin (Marissa) Jonov, and Daniel Luko of Murrysville; and Noah, Ben, Logan, and Lia Pitetti of Bridgeville. She was also blessed with three beautiful great-granddaughters, Sophia Tutino, Mariana Jonov, and Charlotte Jonov, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her great-grandson in June.
She is also survived by her brother, Thomas (Bo) Horan, and sisters Sara (Sally) Hrycko and Kathleen (Kate) Uchrinscko, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband, Daniel Luko, Sr, brothers; William, Verne, Leroy, and Dave Horan, sisters; Lucille Badock, Dolores Gallagher, and Joan Deneen.
In accordance with Colleen’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A private celebration of life will be held for her immediate family. Her loved ones find comfort in knowing that she did not suffer and can now take her rightful seat at the family card table, ready to deal once more.
