Cynthia Wutzke Obituary

Cynthia Lynn Wutzke passed away on Sunday, June 26. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 15, 1962, beloved daughter of Steve and Iris Wutzke.

Cindy was the family ‘s “songbird”, who began singing at an early age. She attended Chatham University’s Summer Music Day Camp as a young girl, and sang in high school choral groups. As a senior she appeared in the musical chorus’s presentation of “Music Man”.

While a student at Indiana university of Pennsylvania, she participated in choir under conductor James Meena. After graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science, she attended Robert Morris University for a certificate in accounting, then passed the CPA exam. She worked for BNY Mellon for 30 years. In her latest position she was a Portfolio Accounting Analyst.

Cindy furthered her interest in music as a member of the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, participating with that group for 28 years. She sang praises to her Lord in her church’s choir, at times with solos, and played handbells.

In spite of having Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and other immunological health issues since age 7, Cindy led an active life and had many interests, including attending theater in Pittsburgh, New York City & Washington D.C. She was an avid reader, especially of British historical novels. She savored cross-stitching, beading, and building model replicas of famous historical places with tiny Lego bricks. Cindy also enjoyed several trips with friends, and a family trip to Punta Cana for her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

Cindy will remain in the hearts of her family, which includes her parents; her sisters, Karen Rubrecht, Catherine (William) Habermann; nieces and nephews, Genevieve (Nick) Kanellias, Caroline and Evan Rubrecht, and Billy and Christopher Habermann, as well as extended family and friends, especially Diane, Pam and Melanie.
