David M. Hood Jr.

David M. Hood Jr., 86, of Murrysville, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Life’s Promise in Ligonier.  He was born February 12, 1935 in North Braddock, PA, son of the late David and Mary Thom Hood.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn L. Hood; and two sisters, Mary Palonis and Margaret “Peggy” Ackerman.  He was a Korean War Veteran and loved walking with friends at Townsend Park.  He was a Boiler Maker for Local 154.  David is survived by two children, Marijean (Jack) Brown Hood and David M. Hood III; a grandson, Brandon (April) Falis; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Falis and Victoria Crystaloski; and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Chaplain Billie Harlan officiating.  David’s family would like to specially thank Hertiage Hospice and Life’s Promise Senior Living for their compassion and wonderful care.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Friends or your local animal rescue in David's name.
