August 29, 1930 ~ September 27, 2021 (age 91) 91 Years OldDonald E. Anderson, 91, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2021. He was born August 29, 1930, in Murrysville, son of the late Elmer R. and Marguerite P. McMinn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby J. Keeler Anderson; a sister, Shirley Anderson. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Murrysville where he first met Ruby. Having played the piano and organ since his childhood, he loved to sing music. He was a member of the church choir for 30 years and was a member of the SPEBSQSA Pittsburgh Chapter of Barbershop Chorus for 25 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement, he worked for Dominion Energy for over 42 years. As an experienced carpenter, he built their home on Peach Tree Drive. He was also a talented woodworker, having made finely crafted and intricate items such as bowls, clocks, vases, and pens. He also built furniture, such as a rolltop desk, grandfather clock, floor and table lamps and blanket chests. Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed by three children, Donald (Jamie Carter) Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, Deborah (David) Swartz of Edinboro, PA, Marjorie (Tobia) Cestoni of Louisville, OH; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; a brother James (Penny) Anderson of Avon Park, Florida Funeral Services will be private.
