Donna Lee (Bell) Shipp, 76, of Murrysville, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after a fearless and determined battle with cancer. She was born in Pittsburgh on June 29, 1949, to Isabel P. (Poust) and Thomas N. Bell.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David D. Shipp; sons, Bryan and Darren; nieces, Kimberly (Green) Reck, Tammy (Green) Ledbetter, and Kylie (Sims) Petty; and nephews, Dr. Chad Green, Tyler Sims, and Eric Shipp. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carol Jean (Bell); and her brother-in-law, Dr. David Green.
Donna graduated in the Class of 1967 from Franklin Regional High School and continued her education at Edinboro University. She later worked at Westinghouse with her father, where she also met her husband, before dedicating herself to being a loving mother and fierce protector of her family. She enjoyed traveling on many family adventures—both far and near—including annual, relaxing trips to the Outer Banks. She loved planting flowers, planning the perfect Christmases for her loved ones, and spending time with her devoted Labrador retriever, Ruby.
Her greatest achievement was the love and care she gave to others—not only as a friend, but also as a surrogate mother and grandmother to so many throughout her life. Even as her time drew near, she continued to show compassion by offering help to those caring for her, even though she physically could not. It was deeply touching and admirable. Her positive impact on all who knew her will never be forgotten. Everyone who met her loved Donna Lee.
Family and friends will be received at Hart Funeral Home in Murrysville on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Ministries of Murrysville, with entombment immediately following at Twin Valley Mausoleum in Delmont.
