Dorothy Gardenhire

Dorothy "Dot" Gardenhire, 91, of Murrysville, went to her eternal rest Friday, December 23, 2022. In addition to her beloved parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gardenhire Sr.; two brothers, Howard and Bernard and a sister, Helen.

She was a long-time member of Mother of Sorrows Parish, the Murrysville Garden Club, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Her greatest joy was children, whether it be the children she drove as a school bus driver, children at church, or her own children/grandchildren/great grandchildren.  Her other loves were traveling, dogs, and bird watching, and nothing made her happier than being outside in the sun gardening.  Her greatest qualities were her positive attitude, sense of humor, faith, and fortitude in the face of any adversity; this she will leave as her legacy to her family and all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Elizabeth, Edward, and Eileen; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Katerina, Jacob, and Brittany; five great grandchildren Nicholas, Harper, Adaline, Elliana and Emmett; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation is from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday Dec. 28th at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Parting Prayers will be 9:30 am Thursday Dec. 29th at the funeral home, followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Parish, Murrysville. Entombment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.
