Dorothy McWilliams, 100, of Murrysville, passed away May 22, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born December 23, 1924, in Bellevue, PA, daughter of the late George and Elsie Anna (Rusheisen) Hall. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orville Richard (Mac) McWilliams, and her brother, George Ernest Hall.
Dorothy graduated from Robert Morris Business School and was a secretary at Westinghouse, where she met her future husband. She was active as a volunteer for various local organizations including the Friends Thrift Store, Franklin Regional Marching Band, Meals on Wheels, and Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a member for many years. She also enjoyed keeping busy with organizations such as the Murrysville Garden Club, AARP, Murrysville Senior Center, the local bridge club, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Along with Mac, family, and friends, she enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean, South America, Hawaii, and Alaska as well as spending summers on their cabin cruiser at the New Jersey coast.
Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, and she attended as many of their activities as she could. Her hobbies involved gardening, traveling, and making jigsaw puzzles. She was especially proud of her swimming medal from Robert Morris.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Gary (Diane) McWilliams and Richard (Colleen) McWilliams, both of Export; her four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jordan) Hull, Kelly McWilliams, Evan McWilliams, and Emily McWilliams; and her great-grandson, Cody Richard Hull.
Visitation for Dorothy is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home Inc., in Murrysville. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday May 29, 2025, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Murrysville. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment will follow in Murrysville Cemetery.
