Oh Sanda,
I am working on a project for MHE and was researching Ralphs' accolades. When I came upon his obituary I was saddened. I will always recall his humor ---I smile when I think of him because of it. I also admired his dedication to science education, a passion which I share. May you find joy in the years you shared together and know he was deeply respected. Kind Regards, Judi Falen

Ralph I hope when God calls Mr to join you we run into Kevin Harvick so we can discuss his NASCAR career with him.
I also remember when that damn bee tried to crawl into your ear at Donnie's camp in the Poconos. I never saw anyone with the moves you had when that occurred...lol. I laugh when I think about it even though I realize it could have turned into a serious medical problem if the critter would have gotten past the opening to your inner ear.
On a serious note. I will miss our chats over a cigar re: all of the Pittsburgh sports teams whether they were winning or losing_ especially the Steelers.
I was always jealous of the fact that you and Sandy had seat licenses to Heinz Field and have experienced the highest of highs when the Steelers won and the lowest of loss when they went down to defeat. Case in point was the game this past Monday night against the Bears. We both were thinking " here they go playing down to the level of their opponent . but the football gods gave Steeler Nation a reprieve when on 3rd down from the Steeler 40 the Bears get flagged for a questionable taunting call, keeping the drive alive. Eventually Ben leads them down for a game winning FG by Chris Boswell to secure a 29-27 victory. I know you were already watching the game with the good Lord but I'm sure you know that Uncle Larry finished that game without fingernails.
Bottom line is, buddy, I knew you weren't in the best of health but I wasn't prepared for this.
God will guide you now

In 1968-69, I and eighteen other young men joined Ralph Feather in the formation of a local fraternity, Sigma Chi Delta, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 1973, after four years of hard work and sometimes contentious meetings, these original twenty young men as well as additional pledges added over those years achieved our goal of becoming a chapter of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity. This achievement was a long-standing goal of Ralph's and his original IUP charter brothers. Ralph's hard work and determination paid off as, since its inception in 1969, the Sigma Chi chapter at IUP is the longest, continuous fraternity chapter on the IUP campus.

I will miss Ralph and pray for God's blessings on Sandy and his family.

All honor to his name.

He is why I am a teacher.
What a great guy. He showed me and many others that learning was cool and that you didn't have to be the perfect student to be interested in science. When I got my first teaching job it was a sort of perfect circle moment when I looked at the authors of our science text and saw his name. Sorry to hear he's gone.
