Edward John Hampton, 70, of Murrysville, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 1, 2023. He was born July 28, 1952, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Edward A. and Helen (Litz) Hampton.
He attended the University of Dayton Ohio and worked at Westinghouse Nuclear and O’Donnell and Associates. Ed owned and operated Engineering Applied Sciences Inc. for 29 years. During his career, he was responsible for the creation of 11 patents. Ed was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, Church in Export and attended the sister church, St. John Baptist de La Salle in Delmont. He enjoyed reading, landscaping, hiking and working on cars.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Becky (Franklin) Hampton; his son, Edward S. (Lindsay) Hampton; two grandchildren, Sydney and Rory Hampton. He is also survived by a brother, George (Janice) Hampton, a sister-in-law, Connie Graham; three nieces: Michelle, Marla, Renee; one nephew: Eric, and two grand nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to The Capuchin Franciscan Friars, Province of St. Augustine, 220 37th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. Parting prayers will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6th, in the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Export.
