Eileen Alexander, a beloved matriarch, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024. Born in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph “Skinny” August and Elizabeth Bartoszewicz, Eileen was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering faith. She was born in her grandfather Thomas Urban’s home, Eileen graduated from Mount Nazareth All-Girls Academy. She began her career at the Five-and-Dime and Kaufmann’s department stores, later transitioning to the service industry at The Turnway Inn, Red Bull Restaurant, and Holiday Inn.
For 43 years, Eileen was happily married to her late husband, Victor Peter Alexander. Together, they raised three children: Carol Alexander Buterbaugh (Edward), Robert Alexander (Dina), and Brian Alexander (Renee). Eileen’s legacy extends to her eight grandchildren: Cory Gailer (Josh), Paula Buterbaugh, Christine Heidenreich (Josh), Keith Alexander, Natalie Alexander, Stephanie Buholzer (Brendan), Nathan Alexander, and Lucas Alexander. She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Lydia, Victor and Caleb Gailer and Bennett Buholzer.
Eileen was a longtime parishioner of Mother of Sorrows Church in Murrysville. She was known for her kind and generous spirit, and her love for her family. Many cherished memories were made at their family “Camp” on Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio. Later in life, she moved to the Clover Ridge Community where she enjoyed many social events with friends. Eileen was preceded in death by her precious grandson Keith, whose memory she cherished. She was predeceased by her faithful husband Victor, beloved brother, Thomas Bartoszewicz, sister, Mary Bartoszewicz Fazio, and brother-in- law Angelo Fazio. She eagerly anticipates the day when she will be reunited with them in eternal life. She is survived by her sister-in-law and travel companion, Gina Bartoszewicz.
At Eileen’s request, there will be no visitation. Everyone is welcome to attend her funeral mass which will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Mother of Sorrows Church.
