Eleanor Dawes Urban, 84, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully February 3, 2026, at Brookdale Memory Care Murrysville, with her son, daughter, and son-in-law by her side. She was born on July 27, 1941, in Pittsburgh and grew up on Mount Washington attending Saint Mary of the Mount Catholic School and later working as a secretary in Pittsburgh prior to meeting her husband. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Eleanor (Beattie) Dawes. In addition, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Carl F. Urban Jr. and two brothers Edward Dawes (Pleasant Hill, California), and Douglas Dawes (Howell, Michigan).
Eleanor was a long-time resident of Murrysville. She previously was an avid golfer and member of the Murrysville and Rolling Fields Ladies Golf Leagues. She was an active participant at the East Suburban and Norwin Art Leagues; and showcased her watercolor and acrylic paintings at many local shows. She loved to travel visiting many Caribbean destinations and beaches along the east coast.
Eleanor is survived by her two children, daughter, Eva (Robert) Tiskus (Murrysville), and son, Carlton Urban (Tampa, Florida); and her two grandchildren, Ellie (Brendan) Murray (San Diego, California), and Reid Tiskus (Pittsburgh). She was a long-time member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Funeral services were privately held with her family at Holy Souls Cemetery, Pittsburgh, on February 6, 2026. This is the burial location of many of her family ancestors that immigrated from Ireland in the late 1800’s.
