Ellen (Carroll) McKee

Ellen Carroll McKee, 89, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg. She was born on January 21, 1936, daughter of the late Donald and Margaret (Brown) Carroll.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry G. McKee, her parents, Don and Margaret Carroll, brother, Don Carroll, and sisters, Mary and Bonnie Carroll. 

Ellen and Harry raised their family in Penn Hills and attended Wilkinsburg Baptist Church where Ellen and Harry were married. They moved to Murrysville in Harry's retirement where they joined the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church. Ellen had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in the church choir. A favorite hobby of hers was making beautiful ceramics. She'd gifted many nativity scenes and Santa Claus figures to her family and friends. Gifts that will be cherished for generations. Her latest past-time was working on puzzles with her Redstone Highlands friends.

Ellen and Harry were very blessed to have a very large group of precious, lifelong friends from Everglade Drive in Penn Hills, Wilkinsburg Baptist Church, Deer Valley YMCA Camp where their family vacationed together for over 40 years, as well as their Murrysville friends and church family. 

Ellen is survived by her three children, Saundra “Sandy” (David) O’Block, Gary (Patty) McKee, and Megan (Michael) Kuhn; her seven grandchildren, Theresa (Zac) Grunberg, Nicole O’Block (Ryan Robinson), Sean (Olivia) O’Block, Briana (Gary) Allen, Aubrey (T.J.) Cifuentes, Katherine Kuhn, and Gabriel Kuhn; and her five great-grandchildren, Hayley and Jackson Grunberg, Quinley and Rhyatt Allen and Landon O'Block.

A Memorial Service for Ellen will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church, 4600 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville, PA 15668 at 2 p.m. A small reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service to celebrate Ellen's life.
