Elsie L. (Byles) Flasher

Elsie L. (Byles) Flasher, 98, of Murrysville, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Dyer) Byles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Flasher; a grandson, Michael Sevier; a brother Theodore Byles; sisters, Ruth Hoeller and Kay Heldt.

Elsie loved traveling coast to coast with her husband and family, playing with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and taking care of everyone. Playing the piano and organ gave her a lot of joy. Elsie’s Avon route was an adventure in itself where she received baked bread and all the ground-cover plants for her yard. She also belonged to the neighborhood Sewing and Card Clubs. She and her family were original members of Murrysville Swim Club.

Elsie was a loving mother to Phyllis Flasher of Murrysville, Christine (James) Bryar of North Huntingdon, John (Andrea) Flasher of California, Marilyn Flasher of Penn Hills, and Mark (Bonnie) Flasher of Greensburg. Dear Grandma of Jeff “Rolland” (Amy) Bryar, Ken (Lora) Bryar, Matthew (April) Sevier, Shelley Sevier, Doug Sevier, Eryn Sarenana, Mackenzie (Katie) Flasher. Also Great-Grandma to Jack and Grace Bryar, Abbie Bryar, Jude and Novalee Sevier, Ryan Sarenana, Malachi and Anneliesa Adams.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville, at which time the family will share memories and prayers. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the William Penn Care Center, Jeannette. www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
