Florella M. (Myers) Silvis

Florella M. “Flo” Silvis, 97, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2026, at The Willows in Oakmont.  She was born on June 5, 1928, in Fairchance, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Walls) Myers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland C. Silvis Sr.; her sons, Roland C. Silvis Jr., Timothy Silvis, James Silvis, and Gary Silvis; her daughters, Sandra Silvis, and Lori Robson; her four brothers, Edward Myers, Frederick Myers, Ewing Myers, and Glenn Myers; and a sister, Arlene Miller.

Flo had a wonderful childhood in Fairchance surrounded by her family and especially her beloved grandfather.  When she moved to Murrysville, she was a city girl living in the country.  However, she wore her favorite heels when she went to town and carried her handbag until August of 2025.  She loved her back porch.  Flowers, gardening and nature brought her much joy.  She even planted flowers until last year. 

She truly had the love of Jesus in her and she poured that love into everyone around her.  She also had a beautiful sense of humor and loved laughter that never left her even at the end.  She never once had a bad thing to say about anyone.  She genuinely made you feel special and so loved in her presence. No matter how long it had been since you saw or talked with her, she always welcomed you as if you never left. 

She was blessed to have many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and recently great-great-grandchildren.  She is survived by her son, Jeffrey A. Silvis; her seven grandchildren, Tracey (Jeff) Zourelias, Marci (Donny) Oliver, Jason (Melanie) Silvis, Michelle (Sean) Haines, Ryan Silvis, Nicole (Adam) Hillman, and Brittany Willamen; her seven great-grandchildren, her four great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Kathy Myers of Canfield, Ohio.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
