Florence Lillian Pompa Biondi, 97, of Murrysville, passed away quietly on Friday, November 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 4, 1927, daughter of the late Olympia (Amato) Pompa and Daniel Pompa. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Joann Gallo, Olga Tauro and her brother, Daniel Pompa.
Florence was married to Louis Biondi, her high school sweetheart, for 73 years. Together they built a joyful life centered around their close-knit family and traveling around the world. Florence had a keen understanding of business and was an advisor and confidant to Lou over his 75-year business career. Florence grew up in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh, a vibrant Italian community, where she excelled at sports, especially softball. Later in life she enjoyed playing golf and poker with friends. She was an excellent cook, specializing in traditional Italian dishes for large family holiday gatherings.
Florence is survived by their children, Louis (Alison) Biondi III, Susan (Tom) Costa and Dan (Patty) Biondi. Florence and Louis are blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way. She will be remembered for her warm and ready smile, and the legacy of love of family and living life to its fullest that she passed on to her family.
