Frank A. Miller

Frank A. Miller, 87, of Murrysville, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his home. He was the son of the late Elmer and Ethel (Harvey) Miller. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn (Rodgers) Miller; his son, Officer Frank A. Miller Jr.; and three brothers, Richard, William, and Donald Miller. 

Up until very recently, Frank enjoyed a fairly active and independent life style including duck and deer hunting with his “guys”, performing regular yard work and lawn care, being the chauffeur and car maintenance/service man for his daughters, being the best dog dad to his Westie Kenzie, and providing every other type of advice and support he could to his family as his family was always his top priority.  While he deeply missed his wife of nearly 62 years and his son, he pressed on every day to maximize life’s opportunities and blessings regardless of circumstances or challenges.  Frank was and will always be an inspiration to his family for never quitting or giving up and he will be profoundly missed by them.        

Frank is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Shawn) Cumpston, Jennifer (Paul) Gligonic; a granddaughter, Valerie (Giordano) Maola; and one great granddaughter, Maddalena Maola. Frank also had a very special “son” relationship with Douglas Krause.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Murrysville Police Department or the McKeesport Police Department. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Murrysville Alliance Church, 4130 Old William Penn Hwy, Murrysville. Interment will be private.
