Frank W. Silvestri

Frank W. Silvestri, 94 of Murrysville, died Saturday, December 25, 2021.  He was born September 10, 1927, in Vandergrift, son of the late Lorenzo and Anna Mastropasqua Silvestri.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Emanuel Silvestri and Charles Silvestri; two sisters, Constance Modaffari and Mary Fousel.  He retired from US Steel Research Center in Monroeville with 37 years of service.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  After retirement, he worked as an electrician for a number of years.  Frank was a member of Holy Family Parish (Our Lady of Joy).  He enjoyed gardening, reading, walking and spending time with his grandchildren.  Surviving are his wife of 66 years, June Taylor Silvestri, three children, Gary W. (Gina) Silvestri of Plum, Daniel F. (Patrice) Silvestri of Summerville, SC, Lawrence R. Silvestri of Murrysville; four grandchildren, Ciara (Vincent) Taglieri, Erica, Grant and Kendyl Silvestri; a sister, Barbara Silvestri of Vandergrift.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Joy Parish, Plum.  Everyone please meet at church.  Entombment will be private in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  If desired memorial contributions may be made to either Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212 or to the Westmoreland County Food Bank.
