Fred S. Marton

Fred S. Marton, 81, of Export, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 31, 1941, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, son of the late Frank and Melanie Huemer Marton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Peter Novak. 
Fred retired from a career in the transit rail industry in various engineering and managerial roles at locations in Churchill, PA; West Mifflin, PA; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Shanghai, China and Singapore. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, Silvia. In addition, he was active in both the Knights of Columbus as well as St Mary's Parish in Export, PA. Fred loved to do woodworking and DIY projects around their home.
Fred is survived by his wife, Silvia Carrera Marton; four children, Alfredo Marton, Alejandro “Alex” (Angela) Marton, Rebeca (Eric) Plantier, and Alberto Marton; eight grandchildren, Nicolas, Olivia, Danielle, Brett, Ethan, Oscar, Felix, Margaux; a great grandson, Elijah; two sisters, Edith (Fred) Goetz and Yvonne Novak; several nieces and nephews. 
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Parting prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, followed by 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Export.
