Genevieve "Jean" (Socha) Soltysiak

Genevieve “Jean” Soltysiak, 87 of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, surrounded by her family.  She was born January 6, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, daughter of the late Stanley and Gertrude Socha. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald J. Soltysiak in 2018. She was an active member of Mother of Sorrows Parish, Murrysville.

She is survived by four children, Karen (Anthony) DeSimone of Level Green; Mark Soltysiak (Ebina) of Pittsburgh; David (Heather) Soltysiak of North Huntingdon; and Susan (Scott) Bucka of Maryland.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Stan Socha.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville. Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows, Parish, Murrysville. Interment will be private with Jean’s family in Murrysville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in Jean’s name.
