Gerard Letzelter, 95, of Monroeville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at William Penn Senior Suites in Penn Township. He was born June 23, 1930, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Michael P. and Rosina Mary (Mansmann) Letzelter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. (Templeton) Letzelter, his daughter, Rosemary Letzelter, a brother, Regis Letzelter, and his sister, Florence Gartner.
Gerard was introduced to the love of his life, Carol, in Pittsburgh. He served in the Marine Corps and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. He and Carol raised their children in Plum Borough while he worked for Westinghouse. Gerard especially enjoyed working on home improvement projects, reading biographies, and completing jigsaw puzzles. He was an outstanding role model, husband and father, never failing to come to the rescue or impart valuable advice. He continued to be strengthened by, and observe his Catholic faith, throughout his life and with his wife and life partner Carol.
Gerard is survived by his three sons, Thomas Letzelter, Christopher (Jamie) Letzelter, and David (Alana) Letzelter, all of Plum Borough, PA; his six grandchildren, Morgan, Christine, Robin, Lauren, Andrew, and Alexis; his great-grandson, David, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Gerard will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., in Murrysville, followed by a Blessing Service at the funeral home at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery with military honors accorded by the United States Marine Corps.
