Gilda Restauri Thompson, 93, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at Redstone Highlands in Murrysville. She was born on July 18, 1932, in Export, daughter of the late Louis and Chiara (Persia) Restauri. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Clark Thompson Jr., her five sisters, Mafalda Restauri, Lucy Dottavio, Margaret Radford, Helen Restauri, Elvira Zuccarini, and her brother, Gabriel Restauri.
Gilda adored her family and committed her life to their care, from her own children, to her grandchildren, and to her great-grandchildren. She sacrificed daily to ensure their happiness. There was no hurdle too great or barrier too high to prevent her from achieving this for her family. She also managed working full time with her husband to build a business that she later passed onto her children. Finally, her greatest passion was cooking which provided the recipe for her family's happiness.
Gilda is survived by her son and daughter, Timothy (Pamela) Thompson, and Carrie (Daniel) Luko; her six grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Kelly, Ashley (Matthew) Mason, Ryan Clark Jonov, Jillian R. (Anthony) Tutino, Colin Jonov (Marissa), and Daniel Luko; and her eleven great-grandchildren, Izabel, Sierra, and Spencer Kelly, and Caroline, Carter, Caden Mason, Sophia, and Carlo Tutino, and Mariana, Charlotte, and Micah Jonov. She is also survived by her sister, Dena Patrick.
Visitation for Gilda will be on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville. Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
