Gorman R. "Mac" McDonald, Jr., 89 of Murrysville passed away on February 10, 2023, at home. He was born March 30, 1933, son of the late Gorman R. McDonald, Sr., and Josephine (Sullivan) McDonald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm McDonald. Gorman was a United States Army veteran and was a retired high school principal for Churchill High School and administrator for the Woodland Hills School District. He was a proud graduate of St. Vincent College, and a member of the American Legion. Gorman was also a retired Greyhound bus driver and school bus driver. He was an avid golfer and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of Mother of Sorrows Parish where he proudly served as an usher for 47 years.
Gorman is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Lou (Wilt) McDonald; and was a proud and loving father of three children, Diana (Stephen) Bullick, Duane (Barbara) McDonald, and David (Jeanne) McDonald; a proud and loving grandfather of his seven grandchildren, Rennique (Paul) Ellison, Rianan (Katlen) Ellison, Lori (Derek) Geraci, Duane Jr. (Linda) McDonald, Julie (Brian) Sell, Amanda (Tim) Bielata, and Andrew McDonald; and his 5 great grandchildren; Jessica, Brayden, Kendall, Colin, and Colton. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marilyn McDonald and four nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Parting prayers will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Parish. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 3202 North Hills Road, Murrysville, PA 15668 in Gorman’s name.
