Harold "Gene" Eugene Duncan

Harold “Gene” Eugene Duncan, 92, of Williamsport, formerly of Delmont, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Gene was born on November 26, 1929, in Wilkinsburg, PA, son of the late Harold and Dorothy Jackson Duncan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois “Jean” Bub Duncan in 2002; his senior partner and companion, Evelyn Ewing in 2019; along with his parents, two brothers and sister.

Gene’s 38 year career as a golf equipment sales representative fostered a deep love for the sport that stayed with him through retirement. He lovingly answered to ‘Dad’, ‘Grandad’, and ‘Big Dad’ with a smile, and regaled all with his quick wit and sharp memory.  Gene loved the Florida sun, afternoons on his patio, a good cigar and happy hour at 4 p.m. sharp. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Delmont and the Plum Creek Masonic Lodge #799 of Monroeville.

Gene will be dearly missed by his daughter Michelle Eckert and her husband Larry; his son Andrew Eugene Duncan; his grandchildren Hillary Hofstrom and her husband Brett, Tyler Eckert and his wife Meghan; and his great-grandchildren Connor, Loisa and Sidney. His memory is also celebrated by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Faith United Methodist in Delmont on Wednesday, November 23 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westmoreland Food Bank or to Faith UMC, Delmont.
