Ida Rose Grissom, 91, of Bethel Park, formerly of White Oak, passed away Saturday,
January 11, 2025, at her home. She was born October 24, 1933, in Coulterville, PA,
daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Shepherd) Ursiny. In addition to her parents,
she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Grissom; a grandson, Charles
"Charlie" Grissom; six brothers, John, Charles, Thomas, Francis, Robert, and Harvey;
and three sisters, Marjorie, Elizabeth, and Phyllis.
She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper and administrator and worked for
Monumental Life Insurance, Sunray Electric, Wilson Christian Academy, and Sears.
She enjoyed being outside and working in her garden, crosswords, reading, spending
time with friends and caring for her family. At the age of 35 she gave her life to the Lord
Jesus and since that time, she has read, studied and absorbed God’s word and shared
the good news with nearly everyone in her life. We will miss her but are confident
about where she is. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.”
Ida is survived by two children, The Rev. Dr. David (Linda) Grissom, and Brenda (John) Darr;
seven grandchildren, Samuel (Rachel) Grissom, Amy (Kenny) Ferree, Raelyn Grissom,
Justin Banks, Jocelyn Banks, Liam and Rowan Darr; her great grandchildren, and numerous
nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Choices
Pregnancy Services 1009 Beaver Grade Road, Suite 200 Moon Twp, PA 15108.
