James R. Remaley, 77 of Plum, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg. He was born April 18, 1946, in Murrysville, son of the late Frank and Mary Jane (Kamer) Remaley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, George, Nealy, and Allen Remaley; a sister, Karen Vietmeier; and a brother-in-law, Terry Fairbanks.
Jim was a lover of nature. He liked to walk the trails at Boyce Park and Rails to Trails. He was employed at US Steel and retired from Edgar Thompson. He worked at many other USS facilities over his career. He played softball for the Mill Leagues back in his mill hunky days. And from what he has told us, he was a good outfielder and hitter! The family would like to extend their appreciation to the entire staff at St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg for the care they provided for Jim.
James is survived by his wife, Joanne DeMarco; children, James (Megan) Remaley and Christine (Brian) Filardi; grandchildren, William, Corey, & Allison; four siblings, David (Joyce) Remaley, Susan McCann, Gerald (Lori) Remaley and Katie Fairbanks; numerous nieces and nephews.
