It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane Noble nee Minnich on February 3, 2022.   Jane was born on April 19, 1923, to Naomi Pearl Gordon Minnich and Walter McKinley Minnich in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania at the hospital closest to their hometown of Greencastle, Pennsylvania.   Jane had many fond memories of her hometown including her high school friends especially the “TPGs.”  “TPG” being short for “Ten Pretty Girls!”  Jane went on to study at the Pennsylvania State University where she met her future husband, James (Jim) A. Noble, was an active member of the Chi Omega sorority and graduated with a business degree!  Jane was employed after college at Fairchild Aircraft in the ‘cost plus fixed fee division.’  It was there that Jane learned to fly and earned her pilot’s license!

Jane and Jim were married in her parent’s backyard after Jim came home from serving with the Marines in the WWII Pacific combat arena.  They returned to Penn State, so that Jim could complete his degree while Jane worked at O.W. Houts & Sons and lived in the trailers set up for returning GI’s and their brides.  When Jim graduated, they moved to Murrysville, Pennsylvania.  Jane stayed busy raising their children and participating in the family business, Murrysville Golf Course, along with Jim, the Funks and Geigers as well as being active in bridge club, church, community, and many hobbies.

“Out of self-defense”, Jane took up golf, was a longstanding member of Oakmont Country Club and past president of the Women’s golf association there.  She particularly enjoyed playing in the member-son events with son, Andy!  After the children flew the nest, Jane and Jim become snowbirds, wintering, then, taking up full time residence in Juno Beach, Florida, where Jane stayed active treasuring her time at the beach with family and friends.  She loved to travel and even went snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef (Australia) with dear daughter-in-law, Carol A. Noble, when she was in her eighties!

Jane is predeceased in death by her beloved son, Andrew G. Noble and husband, James A. Noble; survived by her daughter, Beth (Gerry), daughter-in-law, Carol, grandchildren Jessica (Adam), James (Shahrnaz), Timothy (Cynthia), Nicholas, Sarah and Rachel; and great grandchildren Imogen and Nash!  She lived a good life and would wish the same for you!

Please join the family for a Memorial Service at the First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11:00 am with interment and luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity, or Loggerhead Marine Life Center of Juno Beach (Florida) or First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville (Pennsylvania.) www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
