John Estatico Obituary

John A. Estatico, 91, of Claridge, PA, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Forbes Hospital. He was born May 20, 1933, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Agostino and Anna Marie (Torti) Estatico. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, M. Patricia “Patty” (Hartigan) Estatico; siblings, Emanuel Estatico, Constance Borkovich, Josephine Marshall, Madeline Sanders, Antoinette Sadler, Anthony Estatico, Marie Prince, Rocco Estatico, and Ruth Frey.

John was a loving and dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle & Friend, but most importantly he was a devoted Christian, born and raised Catholic, then later in life practicing in a non-denominational fashion, increasing his connection with Our Lord.

John was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War. He worked for A&P Tea Company grocery stores until joining his brother Tony at S&E Associates to establish a new automatic door business he named Automated Entrance Systems.  In 1977 he sold Automated Entrance Systems and purchased Cleveland Door Controls, which later merged with Thomas Door Controls in Columbus Ohio.  At age 50 John retired early and moved to Florida, only to find a desire to engage in business again, so he purchased AAA Auto Radiator, together with his nephew Joe Borkovich.  Several years after John’s wife Patty passed away, he was blessed to meet and marry Elizabeth “Jeanne” Estatico. They moved near his sister Ruth in Boca Raton.  John later retired a second time and moved to the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian in Georgia.  In 2022 John & Jeanne moved back to Pennsylvania to be near family.

John had several passions in his life including crafting leather products, square dancing, horseback riding, flying as a licensed pilot, and constantly helping friends, relatives and neighbors fix, repair or build most anything that was asked of him.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Jeanne” (Show) Estatico; four children, David (Shelly Moff) Estatico, Debbie Estatico, Janice (Michael) Martinez, Daniel Estatico; 9 grandchildren, Stacy Lynne Estatico, John Novak, Gary Novak, Angela (Mazen Rayan) Novak, Tabitha (Jeremy) Morrison, Michael (Jessica) Costa, Yazmin Estatico, Ayana Estatico and Daniel Estatico; 10 Great-Grandchildren, Landyn, Eli, Anaya, Chelsea, Cheyenne, Brandy, Brooke, Kayden, Ja-nyia and Ja-myia. He is also survived by a sister, Beatrice Tamburri and numerous nieces and nephews.

At John’s request, there will be no visitation or services, only a private memorial for immediate family.
