In the arms of his loving wife, John Knaus went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 30, 2023. John served in the U.S. Air Force and was discharged with honors. He was a master carpenter and enjoyed his retirement years working at Target. He and his wife enjoyed doing life together, spontaneous adventures and picnics in the park.
He is survived by his cherished and devoted wife, Doris; cherished children, Jon and Melanie Cady, Brett and Laurie Williams, Travis and Stephanie Roupp; grandchildren, Justin and Michelle Cady, Ryan and Monica Herman, Briana, Trevor, and Sonja Williams, Brittany, Tyler, and Ella Rose Roupp; great grandchildren, Juliette, Sofia, and Adelaide Cady and Oliver and London Herman. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn (Wilbur) Smith and Elaine Farrell; a brother, Kenneth (Diane) Knaus; a niece, Janelle Knaus; a nephew, Michael Knaus; and other nieces and nephews.
A ceremony celebrating and honoring John's life will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
