Juanita “Nita” Stoughton, 87, of Export, passed away peacefully January 8, 2026, at William Penn Care Center in Penn Township. She was born on June 30, 1938, in Turtle Creek, daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Johnson) Krivascy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Earl Stoughton, her sister, Wanda Sekley, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Sekley.
Nita grew up in Murrysville and met Earl at the fire hall where she was serving coffee. She was a lifeguard at the Blue Spruce pool. His family lived in the house just behind Doc Hall’s. They spent the rest of their lives in Export, square dancing, bowling, camping and raising two kids. She had an associate's degree in dietetics and worked as a dental assistant into her seventies. She loved being with her friends at the senior center in her final years.
Nita is survived by her daughter, Diana (Kenneth Kellers) Stoughton; her son, Donald Stoughton; her two grandchildren, Brekka and Gryphon, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Nita will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Mother of Sorrows Church in Murrysville.
