Judith Staab Pringle, 65, of Murrysville, passed away July 7, 2025, at her home. She was born September 3, 1959, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Carl and Gula (Meyer) Staab.
Judy graduated from Franklin Regional High School and earned her degree in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. She started her career in the Westinghouse Process Control Division and subsequently transferred to the Transportation Division. She found her niche working on the design, installation, and startup of automated people mover systems around the world. She was very proud to be a woman engineer and stayed with the company through four changes of ownership (Westinghouse --> AEG --> Adtranz --> Bombardier --> Alstrom) to retire last year.
During her life, Judy was involved in go kart racing, dancing, baton twirling, majorette competitions, cheerleading, women’s ice hockey, volleyball, and a variety of sewing crafts, especially cross-stitching.
In 2018 Judy was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Surviving surgery, radiation, and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, she beat the odds and cancer into remission. In March of this year, it was determined that the cancer had reappeared in other parts of her body. She passed peacefully in her sleep. She is survived by her brother, Carl Staab Jr., her sister-in-law, Lynn Staab, and her nephew, Randy Staab.
Visitation for Judy will be held on Friday July 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., in Murrysville, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
