Kelly Jean (Daugherty) Farley

Kelly Jean (Daugherty) Farley, 44, of Monroeville, formerly of Murrysville and Colorado Springs, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at her home. She was born June 30, 1979, in Latrobe, daughter of Lois (Ritenour) Daugherty and the late John B. Daugherty. 

Kelly shined the Light of Christ brightly out into this world with her comforting smile, joyous laugh, and kind heart. Raised on the farm at Daugherty's Orchards, Kelly learned the value of hard work, honesty, love and generosity as she grew up surrounded by siblings, cousins and friends in a home that always had an open door. After graduating from Franklin Regional High School in 1997, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State. Kelly practiced engineering for over 10 years, designing bridges in Pittsburgh, Texas, and Colorado before "retiring" to pursue her real passion, raising her children.

Kelly’s engineering lead her to Austin, Texas, where she met her beloved husband Josh working on a project together. They worked hard and played hard as their love grew for each other and for God. Their lives took them to Colorado where new friends were made, and their first child was born. Returning to Pittsburgh welcomed two more children, a new church family, and rekindling of old friendships.

Kelly loved to travel and explore with people she loved. Whether it be an RV full of family heading to the Disney campground, a road trip with friends following college in a half broken-down van, camping in the Rocky Mountains by a stream with her husband, or a beach trip to Mexico with her kids, if you asked if she wanted to go, Kelly’s answer was yes. In all her travels, her sweet spot was always the beach. She felt that the tranquility of the ocean, hearing the waves, and soaking in the sun was all a gift from God for us to enjoy.

So many lives have been touched by the life of Kelly and her flame will burn on within each person that knew her. Her selfless nature and caring heart led her to impact people all around her without even trying. She gave us all an example to follow, just as she followed Christ.

Kelly was the beloved wife of Josh Farley, a loving mother to her three children, Emma (12), Austin (10) and Alexa (8). She is also survived by five siblings, Jason (Diang) Daugherty, Candice (Steve) Kane, Jon (Claudia) Daugherty, Josh Daugherty, Stacey (Justin) Scheib; her parents in-law, Jim and Cami Farley, brothers in-law, Carter (Shelly), Jesse (Tara), Cody (Jodi); 14 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Cornerstone Ministries Church, 2200 Cornerstone Lane, Murrysville, PA 15632. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the church, with a luncheon immediately following. Interment will be private at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
