Krista M. Phillips

Krista M. Phillips, age 45, formerly of Murrysville, PA, passed away on December 30, 2024, at IHS Latrobe Hospital in Latrobe, PA, after extended medical issues.  She was born May 31, 1979, in Decorah, Iowa, daughter of the late Dwayne "D.R." and Mary (Ollikainen) Phillips.  She is survived by a sister; Callie (Ryan) Flynn of Murrysville, a brother; Brad (Beth) Phillips, several nephews, and her dearest friend, Megan Skoloda.

Krista graduated from Franklin Regional High School in 2000 and began working at the Clelian Center Workshop at Clelian Heights in October 2000.  Krista enjoyed working with her friends and participating in a variety of activities such as volunteering, or just spending time at pet shelters, bowling, the Hands of Friendship prayer group, dances, going out to eat, and participating in Special Olympics.  She loved getting her hair and nails done and she lived for a good cup of coffee!

Krista began receiving care with Acme Providers in 2013 and lived in Hope House, Grace Place, Providence Place, and again at Grace Place during the eleven years she received services with Acme.  Krista's health care needs began to become more extensive, and she was discharged while in the hospital.  Krista then went to live and The Grove in Irwin.  She quickly made friends and won the hearts of the nurses who cared for her.  She was pleased and grateful when her friends would come to visit her.
