Larry Lee “Jake” Hill, 83, of Delmont, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born November 6, 1939, in Export, son of the late Arthur and Stella Hill. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Irene “Dot” (Ganz) Hill, a sister, Dorothy “Tootie” (Harry) Lape, two brothers, James (Janice) Hill, Benjamin (Gene) Hill; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Martha Hill and Christine Hill.
Larry was well known in the communities. Prior to retirement at age 83, he was an excellent chef. He was employed at the Holiday House in Monroeville, The Lamplighter, Greensburg Country Club, Howard Johnsons, and The School House. Larry had his own business “Hills Pizza Heaven” with catering and ice sculpturing. Larry loved telling others about Jesus. Getting together with his buddies at Panera Bread was a highlight every morning. He liked getting food from the food bank and giving it to people who didn’t have it. Although he had no children, family was very important to him.
Larry is survived by six siblings, Carol (Kenneth) Yurcisin, Loren Hill, Patricia (Richard) Foreman, Deborah (Errol) DeFrances, Randy (Denise) Hill, Terry (Cheryl) Hill; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the funeral home.
