Lawrence Blair Musser, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and veteran, passed away on November 27, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on September 11, 1949, to Max C. and Ruth E. (Wheeler) Musser, Lawrence lived a life marked by service, love, and dedication.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Lawrence served his country with distinction during the Vietnam War. His exemplary service was recognized with numerous honors, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the National Defense Service Medal. His commitment to his country was a testament to his character and dedication.
Lawrence shared 45 years of marriage with his wife, Phyllis (Chizmar) Musser, and is survived by his eight children: Sharon (Ronald) Sessie, Lawrence E. Musser, Lori (Jerry) Dunn, Dana (Paul) Schweitzer, Jonathan Musser, Jacquelyn (Gary) Grooms, Christy (Mike Strouse) Musser, and Kimberly (Timothy) Bailey, He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 siblings, and other family members.
Beyond his military service, Lawrence was known for his love of cooking, gardening, and farming. His sense of humor and dedication to lifelong friendships left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Lawrence's warmth and boisterous personality will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on December 13, 2024, 1-3pm at Hart Funeral Home in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. A celebration of life will follow immediately at The American Legion, Post #331, in Trafford, Pennsylvania, where friends and family are encouraged to come and share their fond memories of Larry with loved ones.
As we bid farewell to Lawrence, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and service. His legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Lawrence Blair Musser will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
