Leonard Louis Frauen, 82, of Murrysville, died peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021.  He was born October 31, 1938 in Davenport, IA, son of the late Lawrence and Henrietta Frauen. He was a mechanical engineer for various Pittsburgh engineering firms and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Murrysville.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso Univ, IN and his Master’s from Duquesne Univ, PA.  Len was active in scouting and swimming when the family was young.  He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and friends, birding, fishing, and vacations with extended family in later years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann Frauen; and a brother, Lawrence Lee Frauen of Palm Coast, FL.  He is survived by three sons, Larry (Becky) Frauen of Wirtz, VA, Bill (Sunghi) Frauen of Greenwich, CT, and Jim (Paula) Frauen of Upper St. Clair, PA.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Larry, Amy, Lindsay, Sarah, Courtney, William, James, Peter, and David; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Hadley (Amy) Johnson. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville.  Parting prayers will be held Saturday in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  A committal service will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association in Leonard’s name.    www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
