Leonard L. Holt 79, of Murrysville, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at UPMC East in Monroeville.  He was born December 8, 1941 in Yukon, PA while President Roosevelt’s Declaration of war was being broadcast on the radio.  Son of the late Sherman and Martha Hill Holt. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during the Vietnam War.  He proudly served aboard the U.S.S. Taconic as a Senior Electrician Mechanic Operator.  He was honorably discharged in September of 1968.  Prior to his retirement, he was a Patrolman for Murrysville Police Department for over 23 years. Leonard was a charter member of the Murrysville Alliance Church, which he helped in the construction and ministry with his father-in-law, Rev. John Pugh.He was a long time member of Fort Allen Antique Club, and a member of the Delmont Apple and Arts Festival INC. committee.  He loved to spend the Festival talking with people.  Leonard loved to garden and work in his yard, he also enjoyed working on antique tractors and his home that he and Carol built together.  Leonard is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Carol Pugh Holt, a son, Lance (Johnny) Holt; three grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Johnathan; two sisters, Patricia Montebault and Sandra Sinan; a brother, Robert (Sharon) Holt; several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by a brother-in-law, David (Nancy) Pugh and a sister-in-law, Esther (Daniel) Baran.  Visitation is 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday with a Police Memorial Service at 6 P.M. by the Allegheny Valley F.O.P.  at Murrysville Alliance Church where a Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11 A.M.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Murrysville Alliance Church, 4130 Old William Penn Hwy, Murrysville, PA 15668.  Please write Leonard’s name in the memo.  www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
