Linda Nell Obman, 80, of Harrison City, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021.  On March 30, 1941, Linda was born in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Hilda Abraham Salvo.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James V. Obman Sr., and her son-in-law, Brice Beaver.  Linda was a registered nurse who attended the Pittsburgh School of Nursing and later received her BSN from Carlow University.  She began her nursing career at Pittsburgh Hospital until the late 1970's when she started working at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville (known today as Forbes Hospital).  With a background in critical care, Linda was a recovery room nurse, and for many years served as the Head Nurse of the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

As a devout Catholic, Linda was a long-time member of Mother of Sorrows Church in Murrysville.  She also was a member of the Pittsburgh Cursillo Movement and, through the years, attended many church and Cursillo retreats, volunteered at the Westmoreland County Food Bank through the Mother of Sorrows Food Pantry, served as a church lector, and supported the parish festival and church/school fish fry.  Linda will be greatly missed by her brothers, Raymond (Barbara) Salvo of Pittsburgh and Donald (Dolores) Salvo of Florida and her loving children, Julie Beaver and James (Janice) Obman; five grandchildren, Jay, Lauren, Lydia, Brenden, and Garrett and, many nieces and nephews.  Visitation is Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:35 a.m. at Mother of Sorrows Church (go directly to the church), followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.  Everyone is asked to wear facial coverings.  Entombment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.   In lieu of flowers, please send a charitable gift to the Mother of Sorrows Food Pantry in memory of Linda Obman (with checks payable to Mother of Sorrows).
